Get Out and Vote - The Sooner, The Better

My partner and I just stumbled upon the opportunity to vote early today and we jumped at it. Felt really good to have our say, and we didn't even have to wait in any long lines to do it. There is no doubt that this year's presidential election will see record numbers of Americans turn out to vote, and unfortunately, it is highly likely that there will be long lines and a fair amount of shenanigans that will surface on November 4th. We've already seen the "Right" allege that the ACORN voter false voter registration is some kind of liberal attempt to throw the vote toward Obama. I mean really, do they think Obama needs that? Who raised $150M in September alone?

The bottom line is that in this greatest democracy in the world (yes, we still are, despite the current administration's efforts to the contrary), the right to vote is one of our most sacred ones. I hope this election sees a turnout of more than 70%, (a rough average the latter half of this century is 53%). In fact, according to one website, we are 55th in the world with regard to voter turnout percentage. Sad, huh? So,,,please get out there and do your part, the sooner, the better!!
